Greg Sly is the founding principal and fulltime optometrist of Greg Sly Optometry. He graduated from Melbourne University in 1980 and has worked as an optometrist for 34 years. Before settling in Ocean Grove, Greg ran a small practice in Maryborough in the early 1980s and then went on to work in London and other locations in England. He moved to Ocean Grove in 1987 where he opened his optometry practice and has been treating residents of the Bellarine Peninsula and Geelong region ever since.
Greg is passionate about helping each of his patients achieve their best visual outcome. He completed a post-graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics at Melbourne University in 2010, making him therapeutically qualified. This means he can treat most eye diseases and he can write prescriptions for medication needed to treat a range of eye diseases. He has had thirty-four years’ experience as an optometrist including fitting specialty contact lenses.
Greg is passionate about eye health, and specialises in treating people of all ages. Greg has also spent some time volunteering in Nepal where he travelled to very remote areas doing eye testing and distributing donated spectacles from home.
When he’s not at work, Greg loves travelling, cycling, walking, gardening and cooking. He’ll often try to fit in a game of golf and enjoys spending time with his family.
